WASHINGTON, DC - House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Greg Walden (R-OR) today issued the following statement after the U.S. Senate voted to confirm Rep. Mike Pompeo (R-KS) as the director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). Rep. Pompeo has been a member of the Energy and Commerce Committee since 2011.
“Mike has always served with passion, honor and integrity," said Chairman Walden. “A graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and member of the House Intelligence Committee, he has demonstrated his commitment and faithful devotion to this country. As Director of the CIA, I am certain that he will lead our country in the same manner - placing the safety and security of America first and ensuring the strength of our intelligence community."
