WASHINGTON, D.C. - Energy and Commerce Committee Ranking Member Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) issued the following statement today upon news that Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Greg Walden (R-OR) introduced legislation intended to protect people with pre-existing conditions upon full repeal of the Affordable Care Act (ACA):

"Chairman Walden's bill is only intended to protect his Republican colleagues from their constituents at their town hall meetings next week. If Republicans were serious about protecting people with pre-existing conditions they wouldn't be trying to repeal the Affordable Care Act‎."
