WASHINGTON, DC - The Subcommittee on Digital Commerce and Consumer Protection, chaired by Rep. The hearing is titled, “Disrupter Series: Advanced Materials and Production.

The Disrupter Series kicks off in the 115th Congress with a look at the materials and fabrication methods that underpin some of the revolutionary advancements in manufacturing, drug development, battery technology, and many other industries. This hearing is an opportunity for members to learn about the research, development, and commercialization stages for some of the most cutting-edge materials. Leaders at universities and companies will discuss how these materials are making their way from the laboratory to the marketplace and boosting job growth here at home.

“It’s so important that the U.S. remain a leader in both the research and development of cutting-edge materials," said Chairman Latta. “Many of the materials and production techniques discussed next week affect a range of industries, be it automotive, manufacturing, or health care. I look forward to hearing from witnesses on how disruptive materials can continue promoting innovation and job growth here at home."

The Majority Memorandum, witness list, and witness testimony for the hearing will be available here as they are posted.
