Energy and Commerce Ranking Member Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) issued the following statement today after a last minute Rules Committee hearing was convened to consider half-baked changes to the TrumpCare proposal:
“After their epic failure just two weeks ago, House Republicans called an emergency Rules Committee meeting to consider legislative text that was unveiled an hour before the meeting. This meeting is nothing but a desperate charade for Republicans to show progress in their failed efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act.
“TrumpCare is devastating legislation that takes care away from millions and raises costs. It’s time for Republicans to stop their repeal and sabotage of the ACA and start listening to the American people."
