WASHINGTON, DC - The Subcommittee on Energy, chaired by Rep. Fred Upton (R-MI), today announced a hearing for Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at 10 a.m. in room 2123 of the Rayburn House Office Building. The hearing is entitled, “Legislation Addressing Pipeline and Hydropower Infrastructure Modernization."
Members of #SubEnergy will examine 10 bills to promote and modernize the nation’s hydropower and pipeline infrastructure. The bills under review were informed through testimony received at previous hearings before the Energy and Commerce Committee. In May, the subcommittee reviewed the federal licensing process and recommendations to improve coordination between government agencies, promote new infrastructure, and ensure consumers have access to reliable and affordable electricity generated from hydropower. In February, the subcommittee examined the state of America’s evolving energy infrastructure and barriers to innovation, modernization, and further job creation and economic growth.
