WASHINGTON, DC - House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Greg Walden (R-OR), former Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Fred Upton (R-MI), Communications and Technology Subcommittee Chairman Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), today issued the following statement after President Donald J. Trump announced that the nomination of Communications and Technology Subcommittee Chief Counsel David Redl for the position of Administrator at the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA).
“David has been with the committee since 2011 and in that time he has been a valuable member of our team. David worked diligently to improve federal and commercial use of spectrum to meet the needs of ever-growing consumer demand for broadband services," said Walden, Upton, and Blackburn. “David’s experience with the committee and his vast knowledge of communications law and policy makes him well suited to head the agency that will be at the forefront of promoting safe, secure communications networks, broadband deployment, and the efficient use of federally held spectrum."
