WASHINGTON, DC - The Health Subcommittee, chaired by Rep. Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (R-TX), today scheduled a hearing for Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at 10 a.m. in room 2123 of the Rayburn House Office Building. The hearing is entitled, “MACRA and Alternative Payment Models: Developing Options for Value-based Care."
#SubHealth members will have a forward-looking discussion about Alternative Payment Models (APMs), including those that are qualified APMs under the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA) of 2015. Members will hear from those on the front lines engaged in the transition to value based care. The subcommittee will also hear from those developing new models and stakeholders who are already delivering improved outcomes and savings for Medicare beneficiaries and taxpayers.
“MACRA is one of the most significant pieces of legislation impacting our health care system to advance from the Energy and Commerce Committee. Of the many improvements created under the law, Alternative Payment Models have shown promise in helping to improve patient outcomes and deliver savings," said Chairman Burgess. “Next week’s hearing is yet another important step in an ongoing process by the subcommittee to provide oversight of MACRA implementation."
The Majority Memorandum, witness list, and witness testimony for the hearing will be available here as they are posted.
