WASHINGTON, DC - House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Greg Walden (R-OR) and Environment Subcommittee Chairman John Shimkus (R-IL) today issued the following statement after the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) finalized the 2018 requirements for the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS).
“We applaud EPA for finalizing its 2018 numbers on time as it provides both biofuel refiners and producers more time to meet the requirements of the law and do so in a manner that minimizes costs for America’s drivers," said Walden and Shimkus. “We will continue to monitor the long-term challenges and opportunities with RFS implementation, as well as the program’s interaction with other federal policies affecting cars and trucks."
