#SubEnergy to Markup Bipartisan Ceiling Fan Legislation NEXT WEEK

The following press release was published by the House Committee on Energy and Commerce on Jan. 26, 2018. It is reproduced in full below.

WASHINGTON, DC - The Subcommittee on Energy, chaired by Rep. Fred Upton (R-MI), today announced a markup for Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. in room 2322 of the Rayburn House Office Building.

Next week, #SubEnergy will consider H.R. 3477, Ceiling Fan Energy Conservation Harmonization Act, authored by committee member Rep. Richard Hudson (R-NC), which would align the compliance dates for new ceiling fan efficiency standards. Currently, the compliance date for the latest ceiling fan light kit standard is January 7, 2019, and the compliance date for the ceiling fan standard is Jan. 21, 2020. H.R. 3477 would make the date of compliance for both standards, Jan. 21, 2020.

“This commonsense, bipartisan bill seeks to provided much-needed certainty to manufacturers who produce ceiling fans across the country," said Chairman Upton. “I’m hopeful the subcommittee can swiftly advance this thoughtful bill, so we can provide regulatory certainty sooner, rather than later."
