WASHINGTON, DC - The Health Subcommittee, chaired by Rep. Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (R-TX), today scheduled a hearing for Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018, at 12:30 p.m. in room 2123 of the Rayburn House Office Building. The hearing is entitled, “Oversight of the Department of Health and Human Services."

#SubHealth will hear directly from the new Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary, Alex Azar, about President Trump’s federal budget request.

“There are no shortage of important opportunities and key challenges in health care issues facing our country. In addition to reviewing President Trump’s budget, this hearing will provide an excellent chance for our members to learn more about Secretary Azar’s plans to work with Congress to combat the opioid crisis, improve public health, strengthen federal health care programs, and increase patients’ access to quality, affordable health care," said #SubHealth Chairman Burgess. “From health coverage programs, and drug and device reviews, to medical research and innovation, HHS has the ability to positively impact millions of Americans, so I look forward to subcommittee members having a chance to discuss many important issues with Secretary Azar."

The Majority Memorandum, witness list, and witness testimony for the hearing will be available here as they are posted.
