The following press release was published by the House Committee on Energy and Commerce on Feb. 27, 2018. It is reproduced in full below.

WASHINGTON, DC - The Subcommittee on Communications and Technology, chaired by Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), announced a hearing for Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in room 2123 of the Rayburn House Office Building. The hearing is entitled, “Oversight of the National Telecommunications and Information Administration."

During the hearing, National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) Administrator David Redl will testify before #SubCommTech, continuing the subcommittee’s role of oversight of NTIA. Members will seek an update on a number of the administration’s priorities, including spectrum and the race to 5G, broadband mapping, as well as internet governance and cybersecurity. Additionally, members will discuss public safety communications and check in on progress with FirstNet and Next-Generation 911.

“Next week’s hearing builds on our record of rigorous oversight of NTIA. #SubCommTech will have the opportunity hear directly from Administrator Redl on a range of priorities important to both NTIA and this subcommittee, from the race to 5G, to our nation’s public safety communications and more. I look forward to receiving a status update on NTIA’s latest initiatives and its core mission of promoting innovation and economic growth," said Chairman Blackburn.
