WASHINGTON, DC - The Energy and Commerce Committee, chaired by Rep. Greg Walden (R-OR), formally announced a markup for Thursday, May 17, 2018, at 10 a.m. in room 2123 of the Rayburn House Office Building.
The #FullCmte noticed 34 individual bills as part of the committee’s ongoing efforts to combat the opioid crisis.
“Building off of last week’s successful markup, we’ll review another 34 bills as part of our comprehensive effort to find solutions to the deadly opioid crisis. Collectively, these bills will bolster our prevention and public health efforts, and address key coverage and payment issues within Medicaid and Medicare," said #FullCmte Chairman Walden. “With more than 100 Americans falling victim to this scourge each and every day, the time to complete our work is now. Families are literally crying out for help and the Energy and Commerce Committee will deliver for them."
Last week, the #FullCmte considered and advanced 25 bills to combat the opioid crisis, all of which passed by voice vote.
The two markups were first announced on Friday, May 4, 2018.
