Burgess Welcomes CMS Action to Increase Data Transparency

The following press release was published by the House Committee on Energy and Commerce on June 4, 2018. It is reproduced in full below.

WASHINGTON, DC - Health Subcommittee Chairman Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (R-TX) issued the following statement after the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced they will issue new state by state scorecards.

“The announcement of these new scorecards will harness existing Medicaid data for each state, boosting transparency and providing more information for the public. CMS collects a wide variety of data sets from states, and it is a prudent step to make more of this information more readily available. I look forward to further reviewing this initiative and working with CMS Administrator Verma, states, and other stakeholders, to ensure its success."
