WASHINGTON, DC - The Subcommittee on Digital Commerce and Consumer Protection, chaired by Rep. Bob Latta (R-OH), announced a hearing for Thursday, June 14, 2018, at 10:15 a.m. in room 2322 of the Rayburn House Office Building. The hearing is entitled, “Understanding the Digital Advertising Ecosystem."

The upcoming hearing will allow #SubDCCP to delve into the digital advertising ecosystem and the opportunities and challenges presented by this business model. Members will hear from expert witnesses to better understand the amount of personal information changing hands online and the technical processes surrounding those transactions.

“Digital advertising in its current form is more sophisticated, targeted, and automated than ever before. Ad-supported platforms are integral to the internet ecosystem, and it’s critical for us as lawmakers to fully understand how the business model operates and how it impacts American consumers. I look forward to next week’s hearing and learning more from our expert witnesses," said #SubDCCP Chairman Latta.

The Majority Memorandum, witness testimony, and live webcast will be made available as they are posted on the committee’s website HERE.
