The following press release was published by the House Committee on Energy and Commerce on June 15, 2018. It is reproduced in full below.

WASHINGTON, DC - Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Greg Walden (R-OR) and Health Subcommittee Chairman Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (R-TX) issued the following statement after the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) released the FY2018 Expanding Access to Quality Substance Use Disorder and Mental Health Services grants.

“Congress paved the way for these critical resources, which will support local health centers in their efforts to help treat those battling addiction. From expanded medication-assisted treatment (MAT) services to additional efforts to prevent substance use disorder (SUD) in rural communities, these grants are an important step to help lift our communities out of this crisis. We applaud the Trump Administration’s continued focus on combating the opioid crisis and savings lives."
