Energy and Commerce Chairman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) and Health Subcommittee Chairwoman Anna G. Eshoo (D-CA) announced today that the Health Subcommittee will hold a legislative hearing on Wednesday, March 13, at 10 am in the John D. Dingell Room, 2123 Rayburn House Office Building. The hearing is entitled, “Lowering the Cost of Prescription Drugs: Reducing Barriers to Market Competition."
“The American people have been clear: we need to take action to lower the soaring costs of prescription drugs," Pallone and Eshoo said. “This hearing will be an important opportunity to consider several bipartisan proposals that will lower costs for consumers by removing barriers to competition that prevent cheaper generic drugs from coming to market. Preventing companies from gaming market loopholes is a commonsense approach to reduce costs for consumers right away."
Information for this hearing, including the Committee Memorandum, the legislation to be discussed, witness list and testimony, and a live webcast, will be posted HERE as they become available.
