The following press release was published by the House Committee on Energy and Commerce on April 10, 2019. It is reproduced in full below.

WASHINGTON, DC - Energy and Commerce Committee Republican Leader Greg Walden (R-OR) issued the following statement after Senator Bernie Sanders (D-VT) introduced his latest, revamped, one-size-fits all, government run, health care plan:

“People can stop guessing, the leading Democratic 2020 presidential candidate has made it clear where Democrats stand on health care: complete chaos. Senator Bernie Sanders is charging forward, openly admitting people will not be able to keep their current plans. If you like your health care, you cannot keep it. Employer or union insurance, gone. Medicare, gone. Medicaid, gone. Every American would be shoved into a single-payer, totally government-run, health care system. Taxes would skyrocket and access to care would slow to a crawl."
