Walden and Upton Statement on Passage of Bipartisan Energy Bills

The following press release was published by the House Committee on Energy and Commerce on Sept. 9, 2019. It is reproduced in full below.

WASHINGTON, DC - Energy and Commerce Committee Republican Leader Greg Walden (R-OR) and Energy Subcommittee Republican Leader Fred Upton (R-MI) released the following statement following House passage of four bipartisan energy bills:

“This is what bipartisan progress for the environment and power generation looks like. Advancing nuclear, reducing air pollution, improving energy efficiency, and hardening our grid are all real solutions to address current and future climate risks, and ensure the resiliency of energy delivery. These commonsense proposals make clear that Republicans and Democrats can work together on serious solutions that are good for both our economy and our environment. We are proud that these bipartisan bills build on the progress made at the Energy and Commerce Committee in the last Congress, and look forward to continuing to advance policies based on innovation, conservation, and preparation," said Walden and Upton.
