Washington, D.C. - Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) and Consumer Protection and Commerce Subcommittee Chair Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) announced today that the Consumer Protection and Commerce Subcommittee will hold a legislative hearing on Thursday, Oct. 24, at 9:30 am in the John D. Dingell Room, 2123 of the Rayburn House Office Building entitled “Reauthorizing Brand USA and the U.S. SAFE WEB Act."

“As the Committee with jurisdiction of travel and tourism matters, it’s important for us to consider legislation to extend funding for the Brand USA program, which encourages travel to the United States," Pallone and Schakowsky said. “We will also consider legislation at this hearing to reauthorize the U.S. SAFE WEB Act, which enhances the Federal Trade Commission’s ability to collaborate with foreign law enforcement agencies and to go after foreign actors engaged in consumer fraud and deception."

Information for this hearing, including the Committee Memorandum, legislation, witness list and testimony, and a live webcast, will be posted HERE as they become available.
