Health Subcommittee to Hold Legislative Hearing on Seven

Energy and Commerce Chairman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) and Health Subcommittee Chairwoman Anna G. Eshoo (D-CA) announced today that the Health Subcommittee will hold a legislative hearing on Wednesday, January 8, at 10 am in 2322 Rayburn House Office Building. The hearing is entitled, “Legislation to Improve Americans’ Health Care Coverage and Outcomes."

“The Health Subcommittee is going right back to work for the people," Pallone and Eshoo said. “In our first hearing of the new year, we will consider seven legislative proposals to improve health outcomes for kids and strengthen benefits and coverage for Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries."

The Committee will consider the following bills:

Panel I:

H.R.2271, the “Scarlett's Sunshine on Sudden Unexpected Death Act," introduced by Rep. Gwen Moore (D-WI).

H.R.2468, the “School-Based Allergies and Asthma Management Program Act," introduced by Rep. Steny H. Hoyer (D-MD).

H.R.4801, the “Healthy Start Reauthorization Act," introduced by Rep. Tim Ryan (D-OH).

Panel II:

H.R.1379, the “Ensuring Lasting Smiles Act," introduced by Rep. Collin Peterson (D-MN).

H.R.2477, the “BENES Act," introduced by Rep. Raul Ruiz (D-CA).

H.R.3935, the “Protecting Patients Transportation to Care Act," introduced by Rep. Earl L. "Buddy" Carter (R-GA).

H.R. 5534, the “Comprehensive Immunosuppressive Drug Coverage for Kidney Transplant Patients Act," introduced by Rep. Ron Kind (D-WI).
