Washington, D.C. - Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) and Communications and Technology Subcommittee Chairman Mike Doyle (D-PA) announced today that the Communications and Technology Subcommittee will hold a hearing on Wednesday, Jan. 29, at 10:30 a.m. in the John D. Dingell Room, 2123 of the Rayburn House Office Building entitled “Empowering and Connecting Communities through Digital Equity and Internet Adoption."

“Access to affordable, secure and reliable high-speed broadband internet service is essential in today’s economy and society as a whole," said Pallone and Doyle. “The federal government must do more to promote digital equity and spur internet adoption across the country. As the Subcommittee continues to consider revenue-raising spectrum auction legislation, a full appreciation of the issues posed by poor broadband adoption will be crucial to the discussion."

Information for this hearing, including the Committee Memorandum, witness list and testimony, and a live webcast, will be posted HERE as they become available.
