Health Subcommittee to Hold Legislative Hearing on Policies Related to Food and Drugs

Energy and Commerce Chairman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) and Health Subcommittee Chairwoman Anna G. Eshoo (D-CA) announced today that the Health Subcommittee will hold a legislative hearing on Wednesday, Jan. 29, at 10 am in 2322 Rayburn House Office Building. The hearing is entitled “Improving Safety and Transparency in America’s Food and Drugs."

“The Energy and Commerce Committee has a long and proud tradition of ensuring the quality and safety of our nation’s food and drugs," Pallone and Eshoo said. “At this hearing, we will learn more about several legislative proposals to increase transparency around food and drugs, set clear standards for certain foods, support the development of modern drug manufacturing and reduce the gaming of incentives for drugs intended to treat rare diseases."
