Energy and Commerce Chairman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) and Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee Chair Diana DeGette (D-CO) released a joint statement today following reports that Blue Flame Medical LLC repeatedly failed to deliver on contracts to provide medical supplies and personal protective equipment (PPE) to state and local governments:
“We are deeply concerned by the numerous reports regarding Blue Flame Medical LLC’s failure to deliver on contracts with state and local governments to provide critical medical supplies.
“The company appears to have been founded in the early days of the coronavirus outbreak and reportedly supplies respirators, surgical masks, test kits and other hard to find types of medical supplies and PPE.
“It’s disturbing that Blue Flame is reportedly failing to fulfill its promises. These delivery failures have caused multiple states and localities to cancel millions of dollars in orders for desperately needed gear and equipment during an unprecedented public health emergency.
“Given the shortages of critical supplies, state and local governments and hospitals must be assured they will receive equipment when they order it. We will be demanding answers of Blue Flame in the coming days about its questionable business practices."
