E&C Health Subcommittee Announces Hearing on COVID-19 Racial and Ethnic Health Disparities

Energy and Commerce Chairman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) and Health Subcommittee Chairwoman Anna G. Eshoo (D-CA) announced that the Health Subcommittee will hold a fully remote hearing on Wednesday, June 17, at 11:30 a.m. (EDT). The hearing is entitled, “Health Care Inequality: Confronting Racial and Ethnic Disparities in COVID-19 and the Health Care System."

“Next week the Health Subcommittee will confront the shocking racial disparities in COVID-19 and the American health care system," Pallone and Eshoo said. “As we continue Congress’s work to address the virus and loss of life in communities of color, we look forward to hearing from expert witnesses about federal policies to achieve health equity."

This hearing will take place remotely via Cisco Webex video conferencing. Members of the public may view the hearing via live webcast accessible on the Energy and Commerce Committee’s website. Please note the webcast will not be available until the hearing begins.
