Washington, D.C. - Energy and Commerce Committee Republican Leader Greg Walden (R-OR) released the following statement on Democrats’ continued obstruction of COVID-19 relief and resources for the American people.

“Too many American families are struggling and really need Congress to put partisanship aside and get the job done. But Democrat leaders in the House and Senate stand in the way and refuse to work together with Republicans to fully reopen the economy and support the health of our constituents. Nearly every step of this pandemic Democrats have played politics - from blocking funding for the bipartisan Paycheck Protection Program to refusing to ensure communities have the resources they need to test, treat, and trace COVID-19 infections. Worse, Senator Schumer even tried to adjourn the Senate to keep Americans from getting the relief they need. For the good of the country, Democrats in the House and Senate need to put partisan politics aside. Americans are depending on it," said Walden.
