Washington D.C- Energy and Commerce Committee Republican Leader Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) today issued the following statement regarding President Biden’s moratorium on new energy leasing and permitting on federal lands.
“Pie-in-the-sky government mandates and directives that restrict our mining, oil, and gas industries adversely impact our energy security and independence. At a time when millions are struggling due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the last thing Americans need is big government destroying jobs, while costing the economy billions of dollars. Embracing unilateral actions that impede our ability to compete globally will not address climate change risks and will only embolden China. Instead, we need to encourage free-market technological innovation and all-of-the-above energy solutions that promote clean energy development and deployment."
