Energy and Commerce Republican Leader Rodgers  and Republican Subcommittee Leaders  Upton  and McKinley Joint Statement on Biden Climate Agenda

The following press release was published by the House Committee on Energy and Commerce on Jan. 29, 2021. It is reproduced in full below.

Washington D.C.- House Energy and Commerce Republican Leader Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA), Republican Subcommittee Leader for Energy Fred Upton (R-MI), and Republican  Subcommittee Leader for the Environment and Climate Change David McKinley (R-WV) issued the following joint statement regarding President Biden’s climate agenda.

“Americans worked hard to achieve energy independence for the first time in over 60 years. We are leading in emissions reductions while also maintaining the lowest energy costs in the world. The Biden Administration’s recent climate agenda orders will reverse much of that hard work by making the U.S. more dependent on energy imports and technologies from China, Russia, and Saudi Arabia. This will not result in more affordable, reliable energy for Americans and raises serious national security concerns. In order to secure our energy future, we need an all-of-the-above energy strategy that leverages all of our domestic energy resources, creates jobs instead of destroying them, and unleashes American innovation and leadership in clean energy."
