Energy and Commerce Republican Leaders Issue Letter to Chairman Pallone on Holding Big Tech Accountable

The following press release was published by the House Committee on Energy and Commerce on Feb. 5, 2021. It is reproduced in full below.

Washington D.C.- House Energy and Commerce Republican Leader Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) and Republican Subcommittee Leaders Rep. Robert Latta (R-OH), Rep. Gus Bilirakis (R-FL), and Rep. Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following joint statement on their letter asking Committee Chairman Frank Pallone Jr. to join Republicans in holding Big Tech accountable:

“Big Tech companies must take more seriously their significant role in our society to uphold free speech, to protect individual rights, and to safeguard our children from harm-they are failing us. Last Congress, we called on Chairman Pallone to hold a hearing with Big Tech CEOs and we are again requesting we hear directly from these companies to get answers for the American people. These are unique challenges that require us to work together. For America to win the future, Energy and Commerce can and must lead the way."
