E&C Announces Budget Hearing with Energy Secretary Granholm

Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) and Energy Subcommittee Chairman Bobby Rush (D-IL) announced today that the Energy Subcommittee will hold a fully remote hearing on Wednesday, May 19, at 10:30 a.m. (EDT) with Department of Energy (DOE) Secretary Jennifer Granholm. The hearing is entitled, “The Fiscal Year 2022 DOE Budget."

“The climate crisis presents a momentous opportunity to rebuild our economy and empower American workers with new, good-paying jobs in clean energy. The Biden Administration’s Fiscal Year 2022 budget proposal reflects this vision and invests in the most crucial clean energy priorities," said Pallone and Rush. “In addition to these priorities, we look forward to discussing the cyberattack on Colonial Pipeline, what steps must be taken to prevent future attacks, and the Energy Department’s overall plans to support our nation’s transition to a safer, more equitable, and more sustainable energy future."

This hearing will be conducted remotely via Cisco Webex video conferencing. Members of the public may view the hearing via live webcast accessible on the Energy and Commerce Committee’s website. Please note the webcast will not be available until the hearing begins.
