Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) and Consumer Protection and Commerce Subcommittee Chair Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) announced today that the Consumer Protection and Commerce Subcommittee will hold a fully remote hearing on Tuesday, June 8, with United States Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo on President Biden’s budget request for fiscal year 2022 for the Department of Commerce.

“As we look to build a more prosperous and secure future, Congress must invest in domestic manufacturing and America’s competitiveness to create good paying jobs to ensure the United States continues to lead the 21st century global economy," said Pallone and Schakowsky. “The President’s budget for the upcoming fiscal year prioritizes investments in domestic manufacturing for the future. We look forward to hearing from Secretary Raimondo on the Administration’s budget as we work on legislation that supports their efforts to revitalize our economy, strengthen critical manufacturing supply chains, and build back better."
