Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) issued the following statement today after President Biden nominated Alexander Hoehn-Saric, Chief Counsel for the Subcommittee on Consumer Protection and Commerce and the Subcommittee on Communications and Technology, to serve as Chairman of the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC):
“Alex Hoehn-Saric is an excellent choice to serve as the next Chair of the Consumer Product Safety Commission. During his time at the Energy and Commerce Committee, Alex has demonstrated a strong commitment to consumer protection. He has played a pivotal role in the Committee’s oversight of the CPSC and industry regarding the safety of consumer products.
“I’m certainly going to miss Alex’s counsel and leadership on the Committee, but I look forward to continuing to work with him as he prepares to lead the CPSC. I commend President Biden for this outstanding nomination, and I’m confident Alex will bring his longtime passion for protecting consumers to his role as CPSC Chair."
