Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) announced today that the Full Committee will hold a markup on Wednesday, Nov. 17, at 10:30 a.m. (EST) in the John D. Dingell Room, 2123 of the Rayburn House Office Building.
“The Energy and Commerce Committee will markup 12 bipartisan bills this Wednesday that invest in the American people and our economy," Pallone said. “The Committee will consider eight bills intended to improve our nation’s public health and provide much-needed resources and support to health care providers and patients.
“The Committee will consider two bills to use broadband mapping data to save mothers' lives and help streamline coordination of spectrum. Finally, we will consider legislation to better protect consumers in online marketplaces and to support our nation’s travel industry through the Brand USA program. I’m grateful to members for their hard work to prepare these bills for markup and look forward to working together to get them passed," Pallone concluded.
The Full Committee will consider the following bills:
H.R. 5561, the “Early Hearing Detection and Intervention Reauthorization Act," which was introduced by Reps. Brett Guthrie (R-KY) and Doris Matsui (D-CA).
H.R. 5487, the “Stillbirth Health Improvement and Education for Autumn Act of 2021" or the “SHINE for Autumn Act of 2021," which was introduced by Reps. Jaime Herrera Beutler (R-WA), Lucille Roybal-Allard (D-CA), Markwayne Mullin (R-OK), and Kathy Castor (D-FL).
H.R. 1193, the “Cardiovascular Advances in Research and Opportunities Legacy Act," which was introduced by Rep. Andy Barr (R-KY).
H.R. 1667, the “Dr. Lorna Breen Health Care Provider Protection Act," which was introduced by Rep. Susan Wild (D-PA) and 14 other original cosponsors.
H.R. 3320, the “Allied Health Workforce Diversity Act of 2021," which was introduced by Reps. Bobby Rush (D-IL) and Mullin.
H.R. 4555, the “Oral Health Literacy and Awareness Act of 2021," which was introduced by Reps. Tony Cárdenas (D-CA) and Gus Bilirakis (R-FL).
H.R. 5551, the “Improving the Health of Children Act," which was introduced by Reps. Buddy Carter (R-GA), Henry Cuellar (D-TX), Lori Trahan (D-MA), G.K. Butterfield (D-NC), and Richard Hudson (R-NC).
H.R. 3537, the “Accelerating Access to Critical Therapies for ALS Act," which was introduced by Rep. Mike Quigley (D-IL) and 99 original cosponsors.
H.R. 1218, the “Data Mapping to Save Moms’ Lives Act," which was introduced by Reps. Butterfield, Bilirakis, and Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-DE).
H.R. 2501, the “Spectrum Coordination Act," which was introduced by Rep. Bilirakis.
H.R. 5502, the “Integrity, Notification, and Fairness in Online Retail Marketplaces for Consumers Act," which was introduced by Reps. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) and Bilirakis.
H.R. 4594, the “Restoring Brand USA Act," which was introduced by Reps. Bilirakis and Peter Welch (D-VT).
This will be a hybrid markup that includes both in person and remote member attendance via Cisco Webex video conferencing. Members of the public may view the markup via live webcast accessible on the Energy and Commerce Committee’s website. Please note the webcast will not be available until the markup begins.
The Committee strongly recommends that members of the media view the proceedings remotely. The Capitol and House Office Buildings currently have restricted access.
