MARION, Ill. - Drug Enforcement (DEA) Special Agent in Charge, James P. Shroba announced today that Sarah Lindsey, 30, of Marion, IL, was sentenced to 120 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release, and fined $200.00 for her involvement in a methamphetamine conspiracy.
Lindsey pleaded guilty to a one-count indictment charging conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine for offenses occurring between 2012 and Jan. 22, 2014, in Williamson and Jackson Counties. The District Court Judge gave Lindsey credit for 10 months previously served on a related state case.
Evidence at the plea hearing established that Lindsey was involved with others in the manufacture of methamphetamine. Lindsay obtained pseudoephedrine pills for herself or others to use to manufacture methamphetamine. During a Jan. 22, 2014, Illinois Department of Corrections compliance check, agents located a methamphetamine lab at Lindsey’s Marion residence. At sentencing, the district judge found that Lindsey was responsible for the unlawful possession of more than 479 grams of pseudoephedrine.
The ongoing investigation is being conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Illinois State Police/Southern Illinois Drug Task Force, Southern Illinois Enforcement Group, and the Marion Police Department.
