ST. LOUIS - Drug Enforcement (DEA) Special Agent in Charge, James P. Shroba announced today that Eric Watson, 28, of St. Louis, MO, received a 57 month sentence for Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine.
Watson had previously pleaded guilty to distributing methamphetamine in St. Clair, IL and St. Louis, MO. offenses. Following release from imprisonment, Watson will serve a three year term of supervised release. Watson was also ordered to pay a $500 fine and a $100 special assessment.
Evidence in support of this prosecution was obtained in an investigation which was conducted under the auspices of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task (OCDETF). The OCDETF initiative is designed to bring federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies and resources together to identify, target and dismantle large national and international drug trafficking organizations. Agencies participating in this case include the Drug Enforcement Administration, Internal Revenue Service, Criminal Investigations, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, and United States Marshals Service.
