BANGOR, Maine - Michael J. Ferguson Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration for New England and United States Attorney Thomas E. Delahanty II announced that Andrew Grivois, 34, of Presque Isle, Maine, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and to distribute bath salts.
According to court records, between about June 2012 and June 2014, Grivois conspired with others in Aroostook County to obtain and distribute bath salts. On multiple occasions, Grivois ordered bath salts over the Internet from China for personal use and to sell to other conspirators. The defendant faces up to 20 year in prison and a $1,000,000 fine. He will be sentenced after the completion of a presentence investigation report by the U.S. Probation Office.
The case was investigated by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency with assistance from the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Department and the United State Postal Inspection Service.
