WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Bob Corker (R-Tenn.), chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, today made the following statement regarding the introduction of bipartisan trade promotion authority legislation in the Senate and the House of Representatives. Yesterday, Senate Finance Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch (R-Utah), Ranking Member Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) and House Ways and Means Chairman Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) announced The Bipartisan Congressional Trade Priorities and Accountability Act of 2015.
“I appreciate Chairman Hatch, Senator Wyden and Chairman Ryan for offering a bipartisan approach on trade promotion authority legislation to help advance U.S. interests in ongoing trade negotiations," said Sen. Bob Corker. “Pending trade agreements with Europe and Asia have tremendous potential to expand economic opportunities for U.S. businesses and benefit our nation’s long-term strategic goals. Recognizing the indispensable role Congress must play in supporting the negotiations, I look forward to reviewing the final product from the Finance Committee."
