For more than a week, the labor bosses on the board of the Services Employees International Union (SEIU) have been searching for a new leader to take over their debt-burdened organization. No doubt the next president for the SEIU has large shoes to fill as the “powerful and polarizing " Andy Stern heads to retirement.

Workers might be disappointed to learn about the agenda one leading candidate - current SEIU Secretary-Treasurer Anna Burger - has pledged to promote. Her plan to use an unelected federal board to impose job-killing policies on American workplaces was spelled out in a memo to the International Executive Board. The Wall Street Journal reports:

“She also described an effort to ‘push the labor-friendly majority on the NLRB to level the playing field and make it easier to organize through regulation’ and to make quick elections and first contract arbitration the law of the land.’"

Sadly, it was also roughly three weeks ago President Obama circumvented the bipartisan will of the United States Senate to install controversial SEIU attorney Craig Becker on the NLRB. Workers beware: With its close ties to the White House, SEIU continues marching toward the ultimate goal of stripping secret ballots from the workplace.
