Kline Votes to Repeal Health Care, Vows to Replace with Commonsense Reform

U.S. House Education and the Workforce Committee Chairman John Kline (R-MN) issued the following statement today after the U.S. House of Representatives passed with bipartisan support legislation that will repeal the Democrats’ government takeover of health care:

“Today the House of Representatives demonstrated that we have been listening to the American people. We have heard the pleas of individuals and families concerned about soaring health care costs and skyrocketing national debt. We have heard the concerns of employers unable to create new jobs because of uncertainty and burdensome regulations. We have heard the demands of the American people who understand sensible health care reform does not require a government takeover.

“By voting to repeal the flawed health care law, we have responded to our constituents and taken an important step toward restoring economic security, enabling America’s job creators to put our nation back to work, and clearing the way for real health care reform. I look forward to joining my colleagues in moving forward with commonsense solutions to improve health care for every American."
