U.S. House Committee on Education and the Workforce Chairman John Kline (R-MN) has released the following statement after the House approved the Republican budget proposal for fiscal year 2012:

“Today, the House of Representatives acknowledged the will of the American people by passing a responsible budget that will pull us back from the brink of a fiscal crisis. We cannot ignore the very real economic challenges facing our nation. With each day we allow excessive federal spending to continue unchecked, we are risking the future prosperity of this country.

“Republicans will continue fighting for the largest possible federal spending cuts. Our efforts are centered on increasing economic stability and helping businesses create new jobs so more Americans can get back to work. This is what the people have long demanded and Republicans are determined to deliver. I strongly urge the Democrat leadership to join us in making the tough choices necessary to put this country on a fiscally responsible path."
