Foxx Statement on Nomination of Acosta as Labor Secretary

The following was published by the House Committee on Education and Labor on Feb. 16, 2017. It is reproduced in full below.

Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-NC), chairwoman of the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, released the following statement on the nomination of Alexander Acosta to serve as the secretary of labor:

Alexander Acosta has the depth of knowledge and experience necessary to make a fine secretary of labor. We urgently need new leadership at the department who will take on the special interests and put America’s workers and job creators first. It’s my hope the Senate will thoroughly and swiftly vet Mr. Acosta’s nomination so we can begin to move the department in a better direction.
