Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-NC), Senior Republican of the House Committee on Education and Labor, released the following statement after the Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families Office of Child Care announced the Preschool Development Birth Through Five (PDG B-5) Initial Grant awards:

“These preschool development grants are an important step in empowering communities to serve children and families more effectively and efficiently. Local leaders have a deep understanding of what their communities need and what can make them thrive, and these grants will help support states’ and territories’ efforts to meet the needs of children and families in their communities. State-level innovation is invaluable, especially when serving the children who may need assistance most, and I look forward to hearing about the results in these states and territories, especially my home state of North Carolina."
