Today, Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-NC), Senior Republican of the Committee on Education and Labor, released the following statement upon House Democrats’ introduction of the Raise the Wage Act:
“Wages are growing at the fastest pace in a decade thanks to the Republican Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, but House Democrats’ bill to more than double the minimum wage to $15 per hour would derail that hard-earned progress. Today’s bill signals that House Democrats would rather promote Bernie Sanders’ extreme and unworkable campaign platform than accept that Republican pro-growth policies deliver real results to the American people."
