Today, Education and Labor Committee Republican Leader Virginia Foxx (R-NC) issued the following statement after the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) issued a report that the true cost of the so-called Build Back Better bill is over double what Democrats initially advertised.
“Americans simply cannot afford Democrats’ $4.9 trillion so-called Build Back Better bill. This bill epitomizes Democrats’ reckless spending and radical policies which will add $3 trillion to the national debt over 10 years if its provisions are made permanent. Our debt to GDP ratio is already over 122 percent. Adding trillions to the national debt is unsustainable, but Democrats are clearly addicted to reckless spending."
