Today, Education and Labor Committee Republican Leader Virginia Foxx (R-NC) issued the following statement after new documents surface d regarding the National School Boards Association’s previously rescinded letter labeling parents as domestic terrorists:
“From the very beginning, the targeting of concerned parents has been nothing short of a witch hunt orchestrated by partisan demagogues in the White House, Department of Justice, and the Department of Education. Today’s news that Education Secretary Miguel Cardona solicited the letter from the National School Boards Association that labeled parents as ‘domestic terrorists’ confirms this as a fact. To put it simply, this administration is the purveyor of new-age McCarthyism.
“It is abundantly clear to me that Secretary Cardona must answer to the Education and Labor Committee, Congress on the whole, and especially the American people. Anything less is an insult to the proud parents who want to better the education of their children. This pattern of behavior displayed by the Biden administration - let alone the Secretary of Education - is what one could expect from a political arsonist. It should be nipped in the bud entirely."
