Subcommittee Roundtable to Explore the Impact of the Jones Act on Consumer Prices in Puerto Rico

Washington, DC - The Subcommittee on Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation, chaired by Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-CA), will hold a roundtable discussion with stakeholders to assess the impact of the Jones Act on consumer prices in Puerto Rico.

Roundtable participants will include:

* Mr. John Reeve, Principal, Reeve & Associates

* Mr. Michael G. Roberts, Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for Crowley Maritime

* Mr. Augustin "Augie" Tellez, Executive Vice President, Seafarers International Union

* Mr. Jon Kaskin, National Vice President for Legislative Affairs and Chairman, Merchant Marine Affairs Committee, Navy League of the United States

The Subcommittee roundtable, entitled “Impact of Jones Act on Consumer Prices in Puerto Rico," is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, in 2253 Rayburn House Office Building.

The roundtable is open to the public and news media, and will be webcast, however video recording is not permitted during the roundtable. Additional background information and a link to the live webcast will be posted here as they become available.
