Chairs DeFazio, Titus Announce Subcommittee Hearing on Welfare of Animals During Disasters

Washington, DC- Today, Chair of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure Peter DeFazio (D-OR), and Chair of the Subcommittee on Economic Development, Public Buildings, and Emergency Management Dina Titus (D-NV) announced the Subcommittee will hold a hearing titled, “Animals in Disasters." Members will examine efforts to consider the welfare of animals, including service animals, family pets, and livestock during disasters, which is critical for emergency management and evacuation planning.
