Topeka, KS - On Friday, June 14th, the Kansas Fugitive Apprehension Task Force (KFATF), Topeka Division, arrested Tapoleon Hendricks, age 24, in Topeka, Kansas. The U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas issued an arrest warrant for Hendricks for violations of supervised release. Hendricks has a violent criminal history to include armed carjacking, conspiracy to commit robbery, aggravated assault, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, discharge of a firearm, criminal possession of a firearm, possession of a weapon by a prohibited person, and interference. Additionally, Hendricks is a known Gangster Disciple gang member.
The KFATF received information that Hendricks was staying at a residence in Topeka, KS. KFATF established surveillance on the residence and observed Hendricks exit the residence and enter a nearby vehicle. KFATF, with assistance from the FBI, followed the vehicle to a nearby gas station. After Hendricks was observed exiting the gas station, Hendricks was approached by KFATF and FBI, with assistance from the Kansas Highway Patrol and the Topeka Police Department. Hendricks proceeded to flee on foot and was observed throwing a black handgun. After a short foot chase, Hendricks was taken into custody. Arresting violent offenders is a top priority of the United States Marshals Service.
