Harrisburg, PA - Today, U.S. Marshal Martin J. Pane announced the arrest of John Philip Wolfe - a 43-year old man with past addresses in Carlisle and Franklintown, Pennsylvania.
On June 21, 2019, the Middlesex Township Police Department (Cumberland County) investigated an assault in the 1200 block of the Harrisburg Pike, Carlisle - in which a victim reported that Wolfe punched, kicked and pistol whipped him over a debt. Officers obtained an arrest warrant charging Wolfe with Aggravated Assault and lesser included offenses. Attempts to find Wolfe around Carlisle were unsuccessful and the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) Fugitive Task Force was asked to apprehend him.
Members of the Fugitive Task Force in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania worked with members in Wilmington, Delaware to pursue leads in both states. Yesterday at about 8 p.m., task force members arrested Wolfe at a campground near Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. During the arrest officers discovered a firearm and controlled substances. Wolfe - a previously convicted felon - is prohibited from possessing firearms. As a result, the Delaware State Police charged him with possessing a firearm as a prohibited person; possessing a controlled substance with intent to deliver (methamphetamine); possessing marijuana; possessing drug paraphernalia; and being a fugitive from justice. He was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institute in lieu of $183,600 cash bond.

The USMS Fugitive Task Force in the Middle District of Pennsylvania is comprised of 20 state, county and local police agencies, including: the Pennsylvania State Police; the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole; the Harrisburg Bureau of Police, and the Dauphin County Adult Probation Office - all of whom participated in this investigation. The Carroll Township Police Department and the York County Drug Task Force also assisted.
