CBO Report Finds Dept. of Energy Undercharging Energy Companies for Nuclear Loan Guarantees

A report released today by the Congressional Budget Office finds that the Department of Energy may be undercharging energy companies for federal loan guarantees to build new nuclear reactors. Ranking Member Elijah Cummings and Congressman Dennis Kucinich today requested a meeting with Energy Secretary Steven Chu to discuss the report and how to protect taxpayers from the cost of nuclear reactor construction loan defaults.
