Cincinnati, OH - During the early-morning hours of September 4, 2020, the U.S. Marshals Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) arrested fugitive Chwudi Nnebedum on an outstanding warrant from the Newark Municipal Court of Newark, NJ for Attempted Murder.
On August 5, Nnebedum entered the Royal Fried Chicken restaurant and allegedly assaulted a worker within the Newark, NJ area; the victim was shot during the assault. Newark Police Department investigators filed an arrest warrant for Nnebedum. The U.S. Marshals SOFAST in Cincinnati, OH, with assistance from the Newark Police Department, developed information Nnebedum was in the 80 block of Topridge Place in Cincinnati, OH. SOFAST quickly arrested Nnebedum without incident.
Nnebedum is currently in custody at the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office awaiting extradition back to New Jersey.
